i tag common triggers + gas masks consistently. i also tag “#cross pattee” for iron cross (or similar) imagery on wwi airplanes. media and bands are usually untagged. anything else is a hit-or-miss.
my queue is untagged.
send an ask if you need anything tagged, unfollow, or filter appropriate terms.

my first name is taken from the great gatsby, my middle name is from a childhood nickname, and my surname is sort of a family name with more steps involved. my url is after the chance-vought F4U corsair, a carrier-based fighter in world war ii.i am an artist & writer & student pilot (PA-28-181.) i am a transvestitin uranodioningin; these terms were created in the late 1800s and used throughout the first half of the 20th century; transvestite continues use today to a lesser extent. it most closely translates to transgender and bisexual.i create a lot of sculptural and illustrative work that can be found on @piperarcher181. my posting is a little inconsistent but i'm trying to post more of my art! i'm most proud of friedkin.the best way to contact me is through asks! i don’t always answer casual ones but i check my inbox fairly often and will answer anything important as soon as i see it.

do not interact if you fit any of the following:general dni/bigot criteria / terf / swerf / radfem / map / nomap / truscum / transmed / anti anti / pro shipper.
very specific/fandom terms (if you don’t know what these are, you’re fine.): wehraboos, kaiserboos, third reich "aesthetic," hetalia/snk/aot; harry potter; dream fans, sastiel shippers
obviously not all of these are on the same level of shittiness there's just a lot of people i hold varying levels of ill-will or suspicion towards.
let me know if you follow me and you're 16 or under, or over 25. (see FAQ)i stay out of acecourse + pancourse for my own mental health.
i don't care about rpf.
i really don't care about fandom because i go lengths to avoid being involved in it outside of 'my friends and i like this' but i bitch about it occasionally and i do post things critical of various medias and fandoms or what have you. so don't be weird or get mad at me PLEASE this is your warning.
i understand that dnis are kind of ineffective but this is here so people know how i feel about these things and for my own peace of mind. mostly i just block people.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
+ why do you want to know if i am 16 & under or 25 & older?
(as an aside- i don’t answer these asks publicly.) my blog is fine for all ages to interact with, but i like to keep a mental note of who consumes and interacts with my content. i don’t want middle schoolers and underclassmen in high school picking up on any negative behavior from my end, or adults significantly older than me (that i am not already friends with) interacting outside of casual public contexts, especially with more personal posts, considering i use this blog like a journal. i have a lot of older friends irl but i'm not really comfortable with the type of interactions on internet dot com.
+ i can't dm you / you don't follow back / etc...
my dms are set to only tumblrs i follow; this is to cut down on spam bots. if you engage with one of my posts, i will likely respond publicly; i don't direct message people that i'm not already familiar with. i prefer to keep my dash to a certain theme, so i may not follow, but still interact or consider us mutuals if we've spoken before! a general rule of thumb is if you can still see my posts, we’re cool. i also delete my own posts a lot, so if you're looking for something, just let me know.
+ accessibility?
some of my reblogged posts have image descriptions, but not all. most original posts that are okay to reblog have alt text or image descriptions; if i’m making a personal post that isn’t meant to be reblogged (or if i’m very tired) it probably won't have an ID or alt text. shoot me an ask if you want anything described!
+ are you qualified to speak on xyz; should i take your posts as fact?
to a (small) extent. i am certainly more informed than a random person you might ask on the street, but i've only taken an honors wwii class and read a lot. i'm pretty good on explaining basic concepts and i can definitely point you in the right direction to learn more, but you should always do your own research and listen to people who are qualified professionals! if you find something i've stated is wrong, then by all means feel free to let me know and have a conversation about it! i'm always open to being corrected and i love learning new things. unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances i'm a little rusty on a lot of things but hoping to brush up this summer :-)
+ why do you tag some things as initials, iron cross as cross pattee, etc?
i don't want my blog to be searchable by less pleasant people, and i don't want a tag for the iron cross on my blog. the initials and generic names are pretty much only for blacklists, it's not something i necessarily want to advertise positively. ... or i'm too lazy to write the full name all the time
+ why do you have an FAQ in the first place?
if i'm misinterpreted, i'll keel over and die. i really don't enjoy getting asks with baseless accusations of fetishizing war, calling me "psych*pathic," or implying i'm advocating for war because people can't be bothered to google basic facts about basic history and just want to be mad at the easiest target. i want to make it extremely clear that i'm anti-war and provide easily accessible information to folks that have questions or misconceptions based on super-reactionary twitter threads. it comes with the territory of being interested in less-pleasant subjects but that doesn't mean it's not upsetting. i welcome any other civil discussion or questions about any of my interests. thanks for reading all this, and have a great day!
AVIATION
+ can you tell me more about flying (plans / explaining concepts / how do i get started?)
of course! i fly a piper archer ii, i'm going to finish up my private pilot's license before i turn 18, then move on to glider, tailwheel, and instrument. i plan on also getting my complex and high-power endorsements, seaplane rating, aerobatics lessons, flight instructor, and instrument instructor. i'm also looking into purchasing a piper pacer sometime in the future. you can get started on your own lessons by reading through the r/flying FAQ and booking a discovery flight at a local flight school. if you think you might be interested, book a consultation with an aviation medical examiner to ensure that you don't have any disqualifying conditions and if you're in the clear, get checked out for any class of medical. if you have disqualifying conditions and haven't been denied a medical, you can get your sport pilot's license instead, as long as you have a valid driver's license. feel free to ask if you have specific questions!
MILITARY + HISTORY
+ why are you interested in wwi? what is your opinion on it? et cetera...
war influences all of our lives no matter what and it’s genuinely really interesting to examine my personal connections, personal stories of people who were in them, and how it influences culture. i know some people are solely interested in the technology, which seems to be more common in a lot of online spaces, but the human factor is really important. i think it was a horribly tragic imperialist pissing contest and i empathize with soldiers on both sides, but there’s a lot of nuance and a lot more issues. if you're wondering if germany was also evil in this war, although the answer should be rewritten, it's complicated. there were atrocities committed but antisemitism wasn't a factor outside of personal beliefs until after the war. i am anti-war, anti-military, anti-imperialist, anti-fascist, etc. studying this has informed a lot of my personal politics and made my opposition to war much more coherent.
+ who is the red baron and why do you post about him?
he was a german ace pilot in world war one; you've probably heard of him as snoopy's nemesis. his plane is the one in my header! he died in 1918 at the age of 25. i find him a particularly interesting figure because he's so mythologized, when in reality, he was overall just a regular person who loved flying & his dog. world war one aviation history is SUPER interesting to learn about and surplus airplanes after the war gave rise to a huge general aviation culture, particularly in the states. if you're interested in more wwi pilots, look up oswald boelcke and fritz beckhardt.
+ why are you into or posting about german history or germany in general? should i be concerned?
i have german heritage and was raised with some cultural traditions. family history is really important to me and i think german history in general is really interesting, especially in terms of the weimar republic. it's just interesting to me i'm not trying to be weird or claim expertise
+ do you post about wwii (or korea, vietnam, etc…)?
no, in general i don't. i don't have enough knowledge of korea or vietnam to make posts about them, though there are occasional m*a*s*h 4077 posts, and i did enjoy the short-timers & the phantom blooper. i do post some wwii planes, but never any luftwaffe and i keep my other posts about wwii to a minimum. i consider myself fairly educated about that and welcome discussion about that period of time, but outside of aviation, it's not really a part of the 'aesthetic' or typical content of my blog.
